Did You Know? Regular exposure to the environment such as sun and moisture can lead to premature hair loss. If you’re experiencing excessive shedding and your hair is getting thin, you should use hair care products that anchor your roots to your scalp and protect against things like breakage and environmental damage. As a mom with postpartum hair loss, I was DETERMINED to find products that would help with my thinning hair. Here are my top 5:
By far the BEST products I've tried. 10/10. I tried these after reading about their clinical study in the NY Times. First of all, THE SCENT! These products smell amazing. But mostly importantly, they do what they say they are going to do...stop excessive shedding. The shampoo, conditioner and essence are great. They feel really premium and luxurious. The KeepItAnchored shampoo is what dreams are made of. It has a rich lather and washes out clean. The KeepItAnchored conditioner has just enough moisture to make my hair smooth but not too much to weigh it down. The BEST product is the Essence. I don't wash my hair everyday and this Essence is perfect for those non-wash days. It's not greasy at all which I was super surprised about. In fact, it actually refreshes my scalp and the scent makes it seem like I have freshly washed hair. Before using these products I would have fistfuls of hair come out when I showered...now there is barely any. I'm so impressed! I got an email with a discount code for 15% off recently so feel free to use it: ANCHORDAILY. There are kits for MEN and WOMEN.
Their products come in 4 different kits for men and women. The kits are just different combinations of their 4 main products. Here is a chart I found super helpful from their website to help you pick the kit that has the products you want:
#2 Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Clinical Densifying Shampoo | $34
This product did a good job of making my hair feel clean. I felt like it really removed all build up and my hair blew out really nicely afterwards.
#3 Bosley Rejuvenating Scalp Scrub | $28
This product is less of a shampoo and more of a physical exfoliator. It did a great job of unclogging pores and making my hair feel healthy. I'd recommend using this once or twice a week.
#4 Keranique Shampoo and Conditioner | $40
Keranique Scalp Stimulating Shampoo and Conditioner Set is formulated to gently deep clean, thicken and volumize thin, fine hair – without weighing the hair down like traditional heavy conditioners. It made my hair feel thick on the first day after my wash
#5 Batiste Dry Shampoo | $15
Ok, not a shampoo shampoo but y'all I love this stuff and have mentioned it before. The reason I'm adding it to the hair thinning list is because the pigment in the dry shampoo does an amazing job of covering up thinning areas. I'd highly recommend it for postpartum mamas out there
